Notes for Weddings
St. Ann’s Academy welcomes any
type of ceremony.
- Celebrate your wedding in Victoria’s
original Roman Catholic Cathedral, built in 1858 and now an interfaith
Chapel. Golden light enters the Chapel
through stained glass windows reflecting on the 23 karat gold
leaf decoration. The Chapel is an interfaith, non-denominational
facility, although in appearance it has been restored to the décor
of a Roman Catholic Chapel circa 1921-1930. It seats 125 people
(on pews), 150 with extra chairs. Ceremonies of all religious
faiths and belief systems are welcomed, as well as non-religious
ceremonies.
- The Auditorium
can accommodate up to 200 people in a theatre-like setting with
art glass windows and two aisles and no religious symbolism. For
prices and details specific to this venue, please see our Auditorium
Rental handout.
- Why not plan a ceremony or afternoon garden
party in the Novitiate Garden ? This
private floral oasis with its large gazebo can accommodate up
to 200 people in stand-up format, 150 on chairs for a ceremony
or 70 for a sit-down meal. The roofed summer house with benches
can seat up to 50 people. Tents may also be used.
- The Parlours and Foyer
can accommodate cocktail-style receptions for about 50 to 60 people,
or more intimate ceremonies may be held in the Sisters’
Parlour.
- The Academy
Green is appropriate for larger events that cannot
be accommodated by the other venues at St. Ann’s. Located
at the front of the building, this large open area can be used
for tented events. For prices and details specific to this venue,
please see our Academy Green Rental handout.
Make an entrance up our grand staircase or a picture perfect
departure along our tree-lined boulevard.
For prices, please see our handouts for Wedding
Packages, Interpretive Centre, Auditorium or Academy Green Rentals.
Photography Sessions: Rental
of interior or exterior locations can be arranged for photography
only. Ask us for details. All tripods, lights, etc. must have felt
padded feet or be placed on mats to protect the floor and carpets.

by the Program Coordinator.
